The entry of the media to the open court to report its proceedings is a constitutional right, not a special favour of the judges or advocates. Court proceedings and wider functioning of the judiciary are subjects that the public have every right to scrutinise. ആരായിരുന്നു സി.കേശവന്‍?  വേണമെങ്കില്‍ രണ്ടുവരിയില്‍ ചുരുക്കിപ്പറയാം. അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ ബൃഹദ്ഗ്രന്ഥമെഴുതാം. അദ്ദേഹം സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യസമരസേനാനിയും 1952-53 കാലത്ത് തിരുകൊച്ചി മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയുമായിരുന്നു. തീര്‍ന്നു. ഇങ്ങനെയൊരാളുടെ ആത്മകഥയില്‍ എന്താണ് പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കാനാവുക? സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യസമരകാലത്തെ കുറെ വീരകഥകള്‍ കാണും, പിന്നെ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയാകാന്‍ പെട്ട പാട് വിവരിച്ചുകാണും- മറ്റെന്തു കാണാന്‍! അല്ലേയല്ല...സി.കേശവന്‍ ജീവിതസമരം എന്ന പേരിലൊരു ആത്മകഥയെഴുതിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിസ്ഥാനം ഒഴിഞ്ഞ കാലത്താണ്-1953-ല്‍- ഭ്രാന്താലയമായിരുന്ന കേരളം പക്ഷേ, അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ആ ആത്മകഥ നമുക്കും നമുക്കു ശേഷവുമുള്ള തലമുറകള്‍ക്കും മുന്നില്‍ അവര്‍ കണ്ടിട്ടേ കേട്ടിട്ടോ പോലുമില്ലാത്ത കേരളീയ സമൂഹത്തിന്റെ ചിത്രമാണ് വരച്ചുകാണിക്കുന്നത്. ഇങ്ങനെയും ഒരു കേരളം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നോ എന്നു നാം അന്തംവിട്ടിരുന്നു പോകും. വെറുതെയെല്ല, ജാതിഭ്രാന്ത് മൂത്ത ഉത്തരേന്ത്യയില്‍ ജീവിക്കുന്ന ആളായിരുന്നിട്ടുപോലും കേരളത്തില്‍ വന്ന സ്വാമി വിവേകാനന്ദന് കേരളം ഒരു ഭ്രാന്താലയം ആണ് എന്നു തോന്നിയത്. പത്തൊമ്പതാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിെന്റ അവസാനകാലത്തുപോലും അഞ്ചു രൂപ ശമ്പളമുള്ള ഒരു
